Medical assistants are a crucial part of any
healthcare team. Job descriptions vary
depending on your employer, but your
responsibilities may include:

  • Greeting & directing patients
  • Managing patient schedules
  • Taking vital signs & recording medical history
  • Updating health records
  • Performing basic lab tests & collecting samples
  • Administering medications
  • Assisting with treatments and surgical
    procedures
  • Light bookkeeping
  • Patient education

Time Requirements

Academic Assessment-TABE test

2 hours at CityLink Center

Goal Session

Paperwork Session

14 Week Training Session

Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at City Link

3 Week Internship in Healthcare Setting

40 hours/week in a healthcare setting (unpaid)

Certification

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant Course

Cost $5000

Includes scrubs, books, certification exam, study prep materials, and class materials.
